Basic Philosophy

Sanwa Kagaku Kenkyusho recognizes the significant impact that environmental issues such as climate change, deforestation, and plastic pollution have on humanity and nature, and actively engages in environmental conservation efforts.
In order to comply with laws and fulfill our social mission, we prioritize consideration for the global environment and local communities in all business activities. We are advancing the introduction of technologies and processes that reduce our environmental impact, while also aiming to improve resource utilization and energy efficiency, as our fundamental philosophy to contribute to the realization of a sustainable future.

Environmental Initiatives

Energy saving and reduction in CO₂ emissions

As a measure to strengthen energy conservation, we are implementing a voluntary energy-saving action plan in response to periods of increased power consumption.
Additionally, we promote smart cool biz and warm biz attire throughout the year to encourage energy efficiency in the workplace. By raising awareness among employees and accumulating small daily efforts, we actively work toward reducing energy consumption and CO₂ emissions.
Additionally, we aim to promote the introduction of renewable energy and target a 40% reduction in CO₂ emissions by 2030 compared to 2020 levels.

Introduction of energy-efficient devices and equipment.

At the Kumamoto factory, we aim to mitigate environmental impact through the introduction of energy-efficient equipment and facilities. By switching to energy-efficient freezers and highly efficient boilers, we maintain high performance while achieving a reduction in CO₂ emissions and energy consumption, thereby mitigating environmental impact.
Additionally, by actively introducing environmentally friendly facilities, such as fully switching the lighting in factories and research laboratories to LEDs, we are further reducing energy consumption.
These initiatives are being implemented in conjunction with education aimed at raising environmental awareness among all employees, and are positioned as part of our sustainable business operations.

Introduction of eco-friendly cars

At Sanwa Kagaku Kenkyusho, we recognize that reducing the environmental impact of vehicle use as an important responsibility, and we have switched all company vehicles to hybrid cars.
We are reducing fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions, achieving environmentally friendly vehicle operations.
In addition, we are implementing training programs on eco-driving to promote driving methods that are friendly to both people and the environment. Through these initiatives, we are actively expanding corporate activities that consider the local community and the environment toward the realization of a sustainable society.

Reduction of industrial waste and 5R activities

Our company promotes environmentally conscious business activities by emphasizing the importance of practicing what is "common sense" in daily life through the 5R activities: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Refuse, and Repair.
We are promoting process improvements to reduce waste generation across the entire company and fostering a culture that minimizes resource wastage Moving forward, we will further raise awareness and participation among our employees, and continue our education and awareness activities toward the realization of a sustainable society.
